351w block weight?

I have seen some threads that mention the 351W motor is ~520 lbs. I am assuming that is all put together, with lube and fluids.

How much does a naked, clean block weigh?

I don't know for sure, but its not a whole bunch. I can move the block around myself. I'd say somewhere around 150-200 pounds, that's just a guess.

Okie-dokie!!! I bought a scale, it was cheap and I was curious.

I have a stock 351W out of a 1992 F 150, it is dirty, not excessive but not clean, and it has the cam bearings in the block, (but no cam) that weights 147 lbs., 7 oz.

My performance 351W weighed 254 before I put it in the truck this weekend (aluminum heads). Eventually, I'll take out the tranny and let you know what that weights as well.

I'd be interested in knowing if the 351 weighs more or less than a Chevy 350.

My E4OD transmission, dirty, partially drained of fluid, and with the Borg Warner transfer case attached = 288 lbs.

clean tranny, no fluid, no torque converter or transfer case = 202.5 lbs.

Had I weighed it before I lifted it from the car to the garage, I don't think I would have been able to move it. Really surprised me to find out how much it weighed.
