codes after installing modded IDM - normal or problem?
I put in a used Swamps high voltage/high freq IDM. The truck runs like a bat out of hell. It seems like the off-idle power and throttle response are much better - the truck doesn't bog down at all letting the clutch out. No complaints about how this thing works at all.
Hooked up the AE to check some other things and got a bunch of codes when running KOER, CCT, etc. (6) injector high to low side open codes, IDM fault, L & R bank high side open, etc. None of this sets CEL and like I said there are no performance issues - Should I be worried?
I have also intermittently seen P0220/P0221 TPS codes (this sets CEL). Is TPS giving me a clue that 342k miles is long enough?

I never did the IDM mod, but Roland put his back to the OEM IDM. He said his truck runs better with the 120v then with the 140v mod. I'm sure he will get on here and tell you why he did that.
Man, I just dont get IDMs. It seems like it is a complete crap-shoot any time you are dealing with these things. There doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason to them.

I had the DIY 140v IDM mod. It was great with stock injectors (saw increase in mpgs/power), but the throttle response was overly sensitive after going to larger singles. My truck was a PITA to drive on a rough road. I drive on a ash haul road to our shop 5 days a week and I had my fill of the surging and bucking. The 120v tamed things back down and my mpgs didn't suffer. I did, however, have another experience with my reman IDM replacement. The one I have now throws a code P1298, but seems to be working fine. I can get maybe 1 out of 10 buzz tests where it passes without the codes. I just don't worry about it much since it runs great.
