on my 1999 F150 4x4 i recently put a flowmaster 40 series with turn downs and it is not lound at all, it almost sounds stock, i think the cats are clogged up since the truck has 157,000 miles on it and they have never been changed. if i put 2 high flow cats on it in stead of the 4 stock converters will it throw an engine light and if it does, does it make the motor run lean or anything, or should i just cut the stock cats off and run just muffler if its still going to throw a code??????????
If you just cut them off,,,it will definitely through a code.
If you cut them off, add the 2 high flow cats and make sure you put the o2 sensors back as close as you can to the stock position ( one before and after each cat ), you should not get a code,,,but some people do.
Oh, and you will definitely get the volume your looking for with a 2 cat set up.
