Try this!!!! code 1670
Don't now if its coincidence but after failing smog for a number of codes which include 1670 IDM or EF communication faillure. Didnt know what to do.Also my check engine or SES light was burned out. The last thing to do was to change the bulb before I got into my IDM problem. So I ran the truck through its drive cycle and checked codes again and to my surprise no more codes. And to this day 2 weeks later no codes. If your check engine light is out fix that first. It takes about an hour and its 10$ at Ford. Hope this helps.
