I agree with Scott. I like a smoothed stock firewall. I know how much work goes into making one of those, too. I've got to do it on the Merc, as well. How many holes did you fill?
Haha, that reminds me of a '49 chevy pu I worked on years ago.....the guy wanted a smooth firewall. I think I welded up like 68 holes........lots of work to make them nice!

Its nice that someone reconizes how much work goes into the firewall to get it looking like that I welded up about 62 holes not quite as much as you tinman lol

My mates come round and say" oh you have nt got on much have you" I feel like hitting them sometimes lol if only they knew how much time it takes.
I primed mine in white too. I found that the yellow I plan to shoot on it covers much easier than with the standard gray. Plus, most folks think it's just flattened white and mention how great it looks in that color. What color are you going to paint it?
