So, coming from my 09, I was pleased to find they added the one touch to pass feature to the directionals. In other words, I can push half way down on my directional and quickly release and the directional will flash 3 times as I pass. Well, I just found that while a trailer is connected, the truck knows it will take you longer to change lanes and when you use the above mentioned feature, it flashes 5 times. Now, that's thinking. Ford really has it covered when it comes to the small stuff....

Sadly they didn't think about the trailer 5 blink until 2011 job 2.
My job 1 does not have this feature.
I do wish Ford had a way that would allow people to pay for software upgrades that could enable some of these features (if possible). Sucks that the guys who were first in line / paid most for their rigs are left out of some of the features.
If it was a 2012 feature, I could understand paying for an update but since they added it to the 2011's when they felt like it, should be an included update.
I agree my 1st 2011 build date 3-2010 was a 3 blinker with trailer. Now my 2 nd 2011 build 4-27-2011 has 5 blink with trailer.
There was a topic on this, maybe ford does pay more attention to these threads than we think. I know it's a nice feature.
That's a cool feature...on my Goldwing it has a self canceling turn signal. The only problem I have with it is that sometimes you can't merge as quickly as you would like to and you have to re-engage the turn signal again.
Do you guys think 3 is enough? I would want it to be 5 normally and mabe 7 if you are towing. It would be cool to have it programmable to how ever many blinks you would like.

I'm with you, 3 flashes is not enough. I think Ford should have done at least 5 flashes. Right now I have to hold it down if I need time to change lanes. Kinda defeats the purpose of the lane change feature.

i agree also. before this feature was on our trucks i always held down halfway and counted out my blinks. usually 4 is about right. it would be even better if there was a user setting to vary the blinks like 3-5 normal ops, 4-7 towing.
I have not had any problems with the three and towing, I have a job 1.
Usually I signal before I move so it's not an issue. Only time I have to turn the blinker on is if I need to "make room". If you signal while changing lanes it makes me think you are going to keep going.
The 3 blink lane change is good, but pulling a big traielr I would prefer 7 blinks when towing. I think it is tied into the trailer brake circuit. So small trailers without brakes still get the 3 blink.
Having a user programmable setting should have been simple enough and just another minute or so of the programmers time during the initial coding.
