my haynes says verbatim that in 1988 ford introduced the E40d tranmission.read elsewhere. it was 89.
trusted that haynes wouldnt be wrong considering the other sources.
now. having browsed the planet, I do believe haynes made a mistake.
If they made that error?????????? O GOD what about all those specifications.

haynes manual is not even useful for lining the bottom of a bird cage.
but in 88 you could get an automatic overdrive transmission.
i don't know what trans it was, but there was one available.
