Got one in here with the p0088 (replace pump)code. Problem is, there is also a p0297 (vehicle overspeed) code there too. Freeze frame shows it set at 95.09 mph. When this speed is reached, the pcm shuts off the fuel system until it gets to an acceptable speed. Customer concern is "loss of power under a load". If I ask them if they've been going 95, and they say no, its going to cost them $3k. If they're honest, and admit that the power loss happened at that speed, its normal. How should I play this?

I'm just curious.....what does the over speed code have to do with the replace the pump code?

Doesn't the over speed code stay "hidden"?

I'm curious why it would cost them if they say no?

If power is limited like that to throw the P0088 then the wrench light should come on.

So what your saying, is that maybe the P0088 code was set when the fuel system shut down?

Hey, how are those kia's ?

My wifes aunt got one, it has 80,000 km's on it, and i don't think i've ever seen such an aged vehicle lol.

Plus thee dealership needs a disaster before they fix anything, it's almost like they made the car just good enough to putt past warranty.

Engine ticks... just a little

Gas cap lid doesn't close...not bad enough to replace ender warranty, but wide open sometimes lol.

Transmission doesn't go in gear, and they changed the fluid 3 times now, and still it don't work !!!lol.

Plastic wheel wells all fell out.

1 rear wheel assembly replaced, bearings failed.

Complete front end re-do, and i mean, there was not a component not replaced, they took everything out. The body of the car actually sort of collapsed, and the hood was rubbing the edges of the panels, and they wouldn't re-paint it though.

After the front end "debacle" she's gone through 2 sets of tires in the front in only 30,000 km.

They don't care.

Does this seem like an average kia?
