I was looking at this online and i was thinking it may be pretty good. anyone ever used it? I would either get this or an MSD6A, which coil should i buy to compliment this?
The coil you need is the MSD TFI blaster coil. Do you do a lot of off-roading? I think the only difference is the off-road is sealed better but they charge you a lot more for it. The MSD 6a is pretty cheap, 130-140 from summit racing and I don't see how you could damage it if you put it in a location that doesn't get submerged in water.
Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .
Thats it for now, saving for a stang. Check out my Gallery for a look-see.
The MSD offroad also has some type of rubber bushings for mounting to your truck; it supposedly further helps in vibration dampening. I agree with Mustang, unless you're severely bouncing around the trails, I'd save your money and just get the 6A. A couple of my friends do some pretty funky off-roading, and none of them have had any problems with the 6A. You could mount it with some rubber washers in-between the unit and your truck to get a similar vibration damening effect. Also invest in the TFI coil, for only $40 it's well worth it.
