Possible rocker arms for an idi.

I saw an article in Diesel World about some roller rockers that were for a Cummins and when I read the last paragraph it mentioned rockers for the 6.2/6.5, IH diesels, and most other diesels . Anyway do you guys think they would work for the idi? It could be a cool upgrade.

Here is a link to the website...

That is interesting... good find. They say international harvester... must be for tractor puller engines, i think the 6cyl use alot of the same parts. I see also that they do custom stuff, terrified to ask but i think i might give them a call.

IH Engines and our engines were made by the same company, these rocker arms might be worth investigating....

Ya it is a possbility that they could work. I bet they are pricey though. Russ said he called um a while back and they said they didn't have anything for our engines but maybe they weren't sure if another rocker might work. It could be a cool setup to see...

True, but the 7.3 rocker is not lighter, nor is it longer than a 1.5 ratio, and best of all it is not roller tip. Swapping from stock stamped rockers in my buddies bbf to billet roller rockers freed up close to 30 ponies at the wheel. Granted, the bbf sees alot higher rpms than any idi will see (bout 6400) but the advantage is there, and the margin rises as you run more lift and rpm which i plan to do both. Also, the roller tip drastically reduces deflection on the valve tip making especially the 7.3 guides a little happier.

just spent the last 45 minutes on the phone with Mike @ harland sharp.

Sent him pics of my VC's off, and some dimensions. I am sending him a set of intake/exhaust rockers w/ guide plates and bolts. He said it looks like he has a rocker that will fit that. They will be the LS1/viper V10 style rockers with guide pins to connect the rockers. Available ratios in the 1.5, 1.6, 1.7. They will also have lash adjustment nuts on them to preload the lifter.

If we order 5 sets or more at a time it would knock some cash off, but for a 1-off order, $400-$450 a set.

Whether your cheap asses can pony up the dough or not, I'm getting a set

Numbers please ...

Part numbers.
Group Numbers. (how many to lower price)
Cost Number. (for above group)
Will they have to be shipped to a common location to get that group deal.
