I just seen a a Excursion last night with Road Armor front bumper at a local hardware store. Something I never noticed in pictures of this bumper is that there is no TOP to this bumper? It this how is is on all of them or was this a custom job?? It seemed like the entire top of this bumper was not there, guessing for winch access??
I was debating buying this bumper, but I am not planning on running a winch. There is no way I would buy this bumper if there is no top to it haha
See that is the only pic I could find and it was so small I could not tell 100%, but it did not appear that it was open.
I also spoke with Road Armor about a week ago, asked if I could order it without a winch and fog lights, and they said not, everything is pre-cut and they do not do anything custom.. They said if I dont want a winch, you put a license plate over the opening, and if I dont want fog lights, to live with the holes in the bumper..
Yeah, I just blasted Road Armor for not displaying current pics of their products using their website email. There are several other companies that make the Road Armor design bumpers that do offer custom options.
Nothing has changed in over 5 years with them. I thought I bought one bumper from them and the "new" style shows up at my door after over a month of BS. Mine looks just like the above and has the winch hole. Not sure about the top thing, mine has one big enough for me to get 1 foot on sideways and stand but it is several years old.
check out Buckstop bumpers, they look as good as Road Armor bumpers, have more options, and are cheaper. Body Guard bumpers are also good looking, the standard finish is gloss black diamond plate, but they have options for satin finish and also can be had with a smooth surface.

Ya Buckstop makes some of the best....I am thinking about getting a front one from them and building a rear.
