Speaking of the oil too I have to give props to bismic. He told me in the beginning that I have to decide he wasn't going to tell me what I should use. Gave facts as he had seen them and gave me the opportunity to make an informed decision. Bismic is a wise feller.

Yeah my truck doesn't like T6 either. Loves Mobil 1 5-40 or Valvoline 5-40

i cleaned the exterior for the first time in like 3 months...water in the bucket was black after lol. cleaned the inside as well, but i try to do that monthly so it never gets too bad

i also took my intake elbow off to investigate the oily mess. appears to be from the boost sending unit...so i cleaned everything, teflon taped the sending unit and reinstalled

PS - Does anyone have one of those little plastic things with the Powerstroke diesel nameplate on it laying around?

I replaced my intake elbow earlier this fall with a Sinister Elbow. One of the tabs cracked around the hold down bolt.

Ain't got none of them shroudy thingies. Second thought, just the primary to the radiator. Stator and top shroud on a shelf. Somewhere.

sorry the pictures are a little wonky at first but they resized themselves in my own thread. But I put a lift kit on about 2 months ago, finally able to upload. Here they are.

Before

During

After, with new treads

Superlift 4" suspension lift, new leaf springs all the way around. Track arm drop brackey, sway bar drop bracket and bought separately was the dual piston steering stabilizer shocks, oh and 33" nitto grappler tires.

Sparky, if that response is to me, trust me, I tried my hardest to not have to. Unfortunately the rolled steel bushing had corroded itself to the bolt. No amount of PB blaster, heat and elbow grease was getting them loose. For 35 bucks a piece, I just replaced the shackles and reduced a headache. I had worked those shackles for a solid 4 days before just buying a grinder and a sawz all, and going to town. Way easier.

yeah it was... and ouch... i thought it actually broke the shackle... the shinyness of the cut should have given it away to me but nope.. lol

but know the feeling... had the same fight with a 79 suburban.. but was able to save the shackle there.. had just enough room to slip the cutting disk between the shackle and spring to cut through the bolt... didnt care about the bushing since they were being replaced with prothane ones...
