Nothing real fancy just a cheap $9 panel with suction cups and adapter to a cigarette lighter. I got it to keep the batteries maintained a bit when im not driving it

Id posted sooner but garage talk crashes everytime i try to load a picture. The panel is supposed to do 2.1a not much but i figure it would compensate for the electrical draw when the truck sits for several days. Especially since the last time the batteries died i had to hook up to the starter to get power to unlock the doors. I have no provisions to get in with a key since putting rear handles on the front doors

Well sorry my advice didnt help. Ever thought of a quick connect disconnect so you use it on other stuff as you mentioned? You can always make it so you have other connects for other stuff and just leave that hard wired to those things but just move the solar panel back and forth. Or I could just be out my league on this one and I'll quit now.

I see you have a solar still going there or is that just a water sterilizer?

BTW you might want to check on the new stuff coming out.
There was one that was also a new flexible type. Did not read
much about about it. The article was in one of my electronic
subscriptions. I'll see if I can find it.

Wife had a water when she got in the truck. It ended up on the dash. A whisky still would be a fun project

I havent really read up much after looking at cost on panels. Right now im debating a way to heat my garage for as cheap as possible. But then again we will be back in the 80s in a month or two. Might just plug in the ice machine and use the heat ot creates. I need more room to piddle

Customized The Front End

Hit Bambi's dad last night. He darted across three lanes. Luckily (or not) it was foggy last night and I was running at around 50 mph instead of the usual 75+. I saw him in the on-coming lane and hit the brakes, hit his rump probably at 30 mph.

Not too bad. These stock bumpers are pretty flimsy.

That Escape that rear ended me about 18 mo ago was not going that fast.
She got the hitch and the right side of the rear bumper and put a slight
twist in it. So it really does not take much to bend the bumpers. Had she
missed the hitch there would of been more damage.

The Escape had a nice table top look to if after.
How did the deer look?

Well he didn’t stick around to exchange information, in-fact he didn’t break his stride. I think he knew where he was going and kept going. I didn’t get a chance to look at his rack but this guy was big comparedto what is normal around here. He was as big as a horse.

Went back this morning to look but I didn’t see any sign of him. I didn’t stop last night cause I was on the blind side of a hill in the fog and since I was still rolling good without any noticeable damage I just went home about ¾ miles away.

Yeah, I'm suprised that the damage isn't worse. The headlight, foglamp, grill, fender, hood even the deflector don't even have a scratch. The bezel came loose from the bumper but doesn't apear to be damaged.

I got a large deer with a 1979 Bronco in 1985. The rack left a nice
dent in the frame around the headlight and knocked the bezel loose.
More like broke the mounting pins I think. He just got up and trotted off.

I don't like the mobile version either. My phone reverts to it every few days and then I have to scroll down until I find the button for full site.
