Okay. Got the hitch mounted up, and tight. Now, looking for an extender since the hitch will barely place the ball outside of the bumper. Did some reading and here and there, they talk about how an extender will reduce my towing/tongue weight immensely.
So, I need to get at least 6 - 8 inches further back. Any ideas? I have a "Curt" Class IV hitch, 2".
Was thinking of a solid tube cut and holed to specs, around 4 inches, with a receiver tip welded on the end.
Don't want to lose to much weight capability, but want to get it done right.
Extenders are commercially available, and some ball mounts are longer than others so be sure to look around and see what is available. It may make your task easier.
