3in of pipe is 3in of pipe. I just got a 3in cat-back from JBA and I love it. Besides MAYBE a slightly different exhaust note I cant see how one differs from another. I would go according to what gauge (ex 14 or 16) steel they use and if its stainless steel or not.

I've just purchased a Raven exhaust system from Midas....and it sounds great on my 03 F150, 5.4. Not real loud, just a deep, mellow tone. Think you'll like it.

I use a MagnaFlow single in dual out and I love it. It sounds great but is not as obnoxious as the Flowmaster. I just depends on your tastes.

What would you recommend for the 4.2?

i want to have that deep tone like when my 4.6 is around 1500rpm. the deeper the better , which is the best to give me that , also another question 3in single,2.5duels, or 3 in duels to the rest of the system, WAIT got another one, why does my 98 have 4 cats on it??

I just had the 50 series flowmaster put on. Single in, dual 2 1/4" out with 2 1/2" tips. It has a good deep tone without the loud obnoxious sound of the 40 series. I really noticed an improvement in performance too, especially low end (2 to 4k rpm).

After 3 weeks withe the flowmaster 40 on my '03 screw with the 5.4, I exchange for the flowmaster 50. It a lot better sound not as loud and not noticable in the rear seat at highway speed. I still get that nice rumbler when I kick it.

Hey Guys....I went to Midas Muffler and had them install a 'Raven' muffler on my '03 FX-4 F150 and it sounds great. Its just got a real soft rumble to it....not loud at all. I like it better than any flowmaster I've ever heard.
