-Looking at the ones I've linked......they seem too cheap to be any good though I bought a replacement bulb in LED with 21 LEDs for my Rascal Mobility Scooter that is absolutely blinding even in the daylight for $3.69 shipped to my door.....
Is it wise/ok to use the WHITE LEDs on tail lights? or will they tend to make the red look more pinkish? or should I get RED LEDs?
It would depend on the thickness of the red lens and the saturation of the color. If it is weak, it will look pink.
Clear lenses with red LEDs would look better.
...don't forget that LEDs dont pull as much power so some flasher relays won't work the same. Your lights may flash pretty fast compared to normal.
I gottcha, but I really don't care for the euro-style clear lenses, I'm just trying to get my tail lights a bit brighter w/o breaking the bank-I'm thinking I'll be better off with RED LEDs back there.
-Hate to send MORE $$ to China, but those guys have it going on with electronics, I don't know how they can make even bulbs that cheap and include shipping.
-The RV places here locally sell (I'm sure) the same bulbs for nearly $20.00 EACH!
Thanks for the link! I think those are the same bulbs that are on Ebay.....
Maybe. Look at the other ones too. I used them in my gauges. Since I have Z Series Autometer gauges the lighting is bad. I was able to buy a few different bulb styles and get equal amounts of light out of each gauge.
These are really bright and project the light in all directions.
I have used them in the interior as well as exterior. I have not done LED bulbs in my backup lights as I have Recon Backup lights.
I did a simular extra back up light with my truck. Mounted a small driving lamp directly above the reciever hitch. Almost looks like headlamps when I throw her in reverse.
Nice. Well I've ordered 5 sets of the 3157 bulbs off of fleaBay. At those prices I figured I'd give them a try. Heck, 10 bulbs for less than $17. If they light up at all, it will be hard to complain at that price. They must be manufacturing them with slave labor... And they're coming all the way from King Kong... half way around the world... lol
In most states you are only aloud to run red light in the rear and clear or amber lights in the front for normal street driving. Granted your tail lights are red and youll be fine but before you go to far with the LED thing I thought you should know lol
