line sensor

This damn truck.... the line sensor thing that goes on the #1 injector... where can I buy a new one... and do I need to have it on? Somehow that cracked injector nut stripped that line sensor and when I put the new line on it stripped that one too. I need guidance... this thing is spewing fuel out the top of the injector line all over everything.

you make it sounds as if we all have idi trucks in our local yards.
some parts of the world, these trucks have long since rotted out,too rare to be left sitting in the yards to sell anything, and have been long since crushed and long gone from the yards for 10 yrs or better now.

what are you guys talking about?
the only sensor on the injector lines should be on #1 cylinder, and even then it is only used for setting the timing.
it is not needed for the truck to run.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...ne-sensor.html

the problem is,if you remove it,the line is now shorter than the rest of your lines, and the timing will be a bit off on #1.
i guess you'd probably never feel any difference and the engine could hardly care less.
but economy and performance couldn't help but take a tiny hit (might be so tiny it couldn't even be measured?) it's probably enough that i wouldn't do it to my truck.id look for a replacement rather than trying to tweak the line to fit on without it.if it was just an old get me by truck,i wouldn't think twice.not worth the effort to even consider lol.screw the line on and call it good and run 'er.

i wonder if the #1 6.9l measures the same length as the #1 7.3l (with the timing pulse adapter in line) so you could just do that?
you just couldn't ever have her timed with the...what was it? rotunda timing meter that used that? for a cheaper alternative solution.
if so,you could buy a new 6.9l line (if you have a hard time finding idi's in local yards) at mwfi.com

Do you need just the line or the timing adapter too? If all else fails I may have a spare of each...

For TRUCKS the adapter for the sensor was on the #1 cylinder.
For VANS its on the #4 sensor because of how the engine sits in the van.

For either, you can replace the line and adapter from a vehicle without it in that place. So for trucks, get a #1 line from a van, or a 6.9L, for vans get a #4 line from a truck.

x2 on what tec said. He is dead on right, lol btw, if you want to buy this peice new its 266.00, I even have a Ford Part number too:

E85z9f838a - if your crazy enough to pay the money for it.

I did manage to find one for 6 bucks from a junkyard about 35miles away from my house... I made the mistake of allowing my girlfriend to to go and get it and while she was there I had her ask them for another #1 injector line... Well the pulse sensor was good, the line.....took me about 45mins to bend it to the right shape but it works.

So the update on the truck:
1. Pyrometer installed and working,

2. Air intake setup completely different from what I was going to do but its about 100x's better than what it was and man what a difference, after i burn this tank of diesel off ill throw up some numbers on fuel economy.

3. Swapped driver side lock for passenger side lock so now i dont have to crawl through passenger side !

4. Replaced and installed a new speaker in my passenger side door. Girlfriend..

5. Replaced the #1 Injection line and the pulse sensor.

Haha, i had better than pics... I had a few video clips i was going to edit together that showed what all we did. Unfortunately phones do not seem to like to stay put when you leave them on top of your truck on your way home so thats out the window, luckily, the company i work for leases cell towers to sprint so i get rediculous deals on phones and my plan is unlimited everything for 10.00 a month lol. But i will get pics up asap, might be able to do it here very shortly actually.

Pics:
Lit Pyro

Pyro In Manifold

Pyrometer Sitting Dash

Small Filter On Intake

BIG FILTER ON INTAKE hahha

The Air Intake isnt exactly what i had in mind, i really wanted cowl induction, my brother in laws dad talked me out of it, he said one winter during the day it rained and **** all day and then at night it iced over real bad and was a pain in the *** to take out when snow became a problem so i went with this and damn what a difference it makes.

Total cost for everything I did this weekend:

Pyrometer: $88.00 - I had to fab up some bushings cause i didnt want to ship the damn thing back and wait another two weeks for them to make sure evvverrything was in the box. SMH

Dual Plenum: $52.00

Big K&N Filter: $54.00

Small Spectre Filter: $19.00

Random hardware and such for the air filter setup: $10.00

#1 Injection Line that wasnt really the #1 Injection line: $20.00

Pulse Sensor: $6.00

Friend who has no job and cant get one b/c of his record but has become a new man after his jail time: $27.00 (all the cash i had on me, I usually only carry plastic)

New Speaker: 10.00

Total: 286.00
