So my truck smokes like a frieght train when I start it and its not at operating temp. The smoke smells like raw diesel and visually goes away when the engine gets up to temperature, but still smells a little like raw fuel. So reading on the forums, I have started trubleshooting this problem. I have a new GPR, all new Glow Plugs, and good fuel pressure.
I traced the suspect injector by unpluging the VCH's one by one until the smoke stopped. After that I pulled the VC and unplugged the two injectors on that harness and found that one didnt make any change in the sound of the engine but did stop the smoke issue.
Since I can assume this is the injector haveing issues by the fact that I can unplug it and remedy the problem, the wire harness should be good I would think.... Or am I missing something?
Swap the pass. and driver side UVCH and see if the problem follows the wiring if not the swap the injector you think is giving you problems with the one next to it to see if the problem follows the injector
The problem does follow the injector. I havent tried changing the harness from side to side yet, do you think I should even if it Follows the Injector?
