Posted this in the transmission section also but always seem to get answers here sooner. So, I'm going to be changing my speedo drive gear on the trans output shaft soon. My question is, does the tail housing have tranny fluid in it? Just want to be ready to catch it if it does.

Yes, it can run out from there. I noticed at harbor freight the other day that they have blue plugs that slide over the tail housing for about 2 bucks.

Thanks for the reply. Don't mind the leaking out just wanted to be prepared. Been wanting to change the tranny fluid for synthetic anyway.
