Just had a friend, who is mechanically minded do a front brake job on my truck. Pads, rotors, calipers, bearings, master cylinder etc. Put everything on, bled all the brakes, calipers and when we push on brake pedal, it goes all the way down to the floor like theres no pressure. clamped the front and rear lines to see if the master cylinder was failing. Brake pedal went half way down and held pressure. Not quite sure what to check next? Any ideas??
Would seem like there is still air in the system. Did you bench bleed the new master cyl before fitting it?
Did you bleed brakes in correct sequence? Correct order is right rear, left rear, RABS module, right front, left front.
Bench bleeding the master cylinder is vital when its replaced. Like Lazy K says there's still air in your system---its time to back up and bleed everything again, this time properly.
Make sure you bleed the RABS module, a lot of people forget about it and then can`t get brakes. Make sure also that the rear brake shoes are fully adjusted up.
It is bolted to the inside of the drivers side frame rail about level with the drivers feet. Follow the brake pipe from the master cly down the firewall and you will come to it. There is a bleed screw on it and it is bled just like a brake.
