I'm Back!!
Awhile back I posted about winning a 360FE and a C6 tranny on Ebay. I drove my old '70 F100 the two hundred mile round trip to pick it up. The old truck ran flawlessly the whole trip, and I was really happy with the old girl. Used a bit more gas than usual, but this Holley isn't dialed in yet.
Anyway, when I got back from the trip, the rear brake line, which had evidentally been rusting pretty badly, burst in my own driveway.
Today I'm starting the repair process. I've got the back half of the truck on jack stands, the tires/wheels are off, and I've tried washing away some of the dirt and road grime that's accumulated over the years in the frame rails, and more importantly, in and amongst the brake and fuel lines, crossmembers, and other asorted truck parts down there. I'm sure that I'll be washing it out again because the exhaust is in the way.
The plan is to install all new brake lines on the rear half of the truck. Essentailly from the proportioning valve to the wheel cylinders.
It'll be good to have the old truck back on the road again...
