distributor recommendations

i got this 428 put in but i need an electronic ignition distributor.it has a hot cam in it.what should i go with?also i dont understand pertronix.is this for making a non electronic ignition into an electronic ignition.another ?.it has a medium rise intake.is this any good ?did they ever come in the trucks.from what i'm told it is a 68 block thanks for any response

distributor recommendations

The pertronix is a little module that replaces the points. It costs about 65 bucks and honestly takes only a couple minutes to install. You can even carry a new set of points and condenser in your glove box and swap back in case of failure in the same amount of time. Ford never put 428s in trucks unfortunately. Be sure and check the flywheel or measure the stroke before you buy the 428. A lot of 428s and 390s have the exact same casting numbers on the blocks. The medium riser intake is a good intake.

the flywheel should have weights correct?which side would they be on ?
