My 1997 f250 7.3 devloped a fuel leak in the valley of the engine during my trip to florida a few weeks ago. so being on the road and away from home I looked for a local ford dealer in south carolina. I had observed what appeared to small leak near the fuel filter housing. So in the conversation with the ford service manager I told him of this. Well about a half hour latter he came back to me and said my valley fuel pump was leaking and it would take about 4 hrs and some where about 700 dollars to fix.
Well being away from home I gave him the go ahead to fix my truck.
So sadly about 6 hrs latter in Saint Augistine florida I still had the fuel leak.
I then limped in to my destination still leaking.
The next morning i discovered my fuel filter housing had a small hole in the bottom due to crosion of the housing.
I then went to the local dealer for a housing for about 200.00 I purchased a new housing and was able to install it myself. I guess I should of trusted my own thoughts. amtrack
