np

also depending on how your wrecker charges they may charge more for a whole cluster, if its a pick n pull style like mine where you get your own parts, be sure to open the cluster and take just the speedo, or separate the PCB computer board from the back and take just that piece, they didn't even know what mine was and just sold it to me as MISC gauge computer for $8, the whole cluster would have cost me $40

also keep in mind i took apart 3 trucks, and tried to find one that was in as best shape, one i took out had corrosion on it from water somehow getting back there so i found another better one.

Does the Ford dealership have to scan for codes or can Advanced Auto or Auto Zone, etc. do that to give me the codes?

My truck has gone back to flashing the overdrive light and shifting hard. I changed the VSS out over the weekend but I put in one from Advanced Auto. My speedometer has always been a little off for the last 5 years so I just never use cruise control. Could it be the sensor on the side of my transmission that everyone talks about, or is it possibly the PSOM?

There is no sensor on the side of your transmission. The VSS on the diff is the only speed input. If the OD-Off light is flashing, there is a tranny code stored. You'll have to find a diesel mechanic with a scan tool or software that specifically communicates with the OBS; the AutoZtoners (et al) have generic OBD-II scanners that don't mind-mild with our trucks.
