He is retired CHP for almost 30 yrs now, so he's seen all the old car wrecks, I'm sure. He says guys were heating up the front I-beams to try and adjust the wheel camber, and it made them brittle and prone to breaking.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I didn't try searching this topic yet, but I will now.
In the shop manuals they show how to adjust camber by bending the front axle beam between the spring pad and the spindle. Maybe they used alittle heat to help it along.
