I am planning on getting some new shocks for my 89 F-250 7.3 4x4 truck. I was thinking Rancho, but I would like to get some feed back on what would be the best for my application. Edelbrocks also look good but are a bit to costly.
They are $69.95 for the front and the same for the rear @ Summit.(it says there is a hazardous material charge also???).
I would do some research on the Edelbrock, I think you would really like them. On a 'Dodge Truck' site...cough, cough...quite a few ppl have said there is quite a big difference between the Rancho's and the Edelbrock's
I'll price out the shocks up here in Canada and if they aren't to much more money I will get them. If I have made enough money at my job to pay for them.
I had a set of Edelbrocks on my 89 F150 with 4" lift and 33's at the time. I was not impressed. The ads lead you to believe that your trucks handling will improve greatly. It doesn't. I replaced them with a set of Rancho RS9000 adjustables after one of the Edelbrocks failed. Much better control with the Ranchos.

I was just looking at my Summit catalog and they have Rancho's on sale until May 31st. They are buy 3 get one free! I would probably go with them if you are looking to save the money.
I put RS5000's on my '85 Bronco. They were way too stiff for my taste for on-road driving. Off-road they worked pretty well though. If you are thinking Rancho, consider the RS9000's. They are adjustable. Set them soft for the street, and stiffen them up for the dirt.
Mrwizard is correct. I have RS9000's and so far they are the best shocks I've used on my truck. You can adjust the damping for different driving conditions. Also, if you will be installing larger heavier tires just increase the damping for good control.
