turbo experts

ive got a few questions for you guys, ive got a garrett GT3582R turbocharger its Ball bearing and water cooled..i got a smokin deal on it so i think what ever money i put in it ill come out still under the new cost...im having a hard time trying to find online sources for a new exhaust turbine wheel...maybe even an intake wheel as it has a few flaws as well..ill see what yall think

here is a pic of the wheel, i think it ate something once in its life. still spins free and smooth so what im wondering is if i should let it be or would it completely be out of balance?

what concerns me tho is that the PO of the turbo said it was all balanced just a few weeks before i bought it ( he sold because he traded in vehicle and would get more $$$ in its stock form) so maybe was it balanced with the eaten up fins?? what would you guys do?

also on the exhaust housing it will have the PSD style uppipes so would the divided twin scroll be a better option then the undivided? i was looking at the divided T4 with a 1.06 ar...any thoughts on that? or just keep my smaller t3 undivided?

thanks for any help

here are some pics of it

get a new exhaust wheel and housing with a T3 or T4 twin scroll.

Find a garrett dealer.

he took it off cause he leaned it and cooked that wheel, no legit shop would balance that assy.

If you can wait till I come up and get the kit, I would love to research that out for you, just no time till then.

yea, i think it would explode if you spooled that turbo up, that's a pretty good chunk for something that spins that fast.

I would like to see a 71mm wheel in your charger.

the wheel size that fits it would be the 68mm wheel...having the same problems finding bigger wheels for it along with the stock one

wait what about these...would any of these work?

I don't know a whole lot about the Garretts, just the BorgWarners.

That being said, a 70mm wheel would probably be decent.

I would call ATP tomorrow.

Ok here is what I think

70mm turbine wheel.

.70A/R non-gated exhaust housing. I would prefer T3 twin scroll, but if they only come in T4 then that's that.

Ok, buy the stuff!

.72 and a 70mm wheel is going to be the ticket.

You don't want the biggest housing you can get because that's going to cause lag, and poor street manors.

I want to make your exhaust side slightly smaller than Racin's. His is a little soft on the bottom end due to our big turbine wheels, but I don't want to run a 68mm wheel because you have big tires and crappy gearing, its almost like towing all the time!

70mm turbine inside of a .72 A/R non-gated T3 twin scroll, and I'll externally gate it.

I cruise @ 2250 on the freeway and don't have power issues anywhere!
