'03 Expy Memory Seat Feature
On SWMBO's '03, the memory seat feature works when the armrest button is pushed, and when the remote control key fob's unlock button is pushed -- both of those are normal operation.
The question is: Isn't this feature also supposed to automatically work when the key is put into the ignition?? My dealer is telling me no, but both my wife and I distinctly remember the put-the-key-in-the-ignition-seat-automatically-adjusts operation when we first received the truck. Now, after the battery was disconnected for an hour once, the key-activation isn't working.
I am aware that disconnecting the battery causes memory loss that requires some things be reprogrammed. I located the procedure for reprogramming the remote key fobs in the manual, and the fobs were easily taken care of.
I have not been able to locate a corresponding reprogramming procedure for the keys (note -- I'm referring to the procedure to cause the keys work the memory seat, not the procedure to allow the key to work with the truck's anti-theft device). My dealer's service advisor is telling me that his tech could not find any instructions for reprogramming the keys (only the fobs), and that he doesn't think the Expys have this feature. Only problem is, it did when we took delivery!

Any help here? Thanx for any thoughts!
Sorry but we just got the expy last week and I have only drivein it two times (wifes truck) but that is as good as my memory is right now
On the digital display, you can toggle the "Easy Entry / Exit" ON or OFF. Therefore if you have this set to ON then when you remove your key then the seat will slide back to give you easy exit. When you put your key in the next time then it should return your seat forward to the previously set seat position.
I'm not sure how this interacts with the key fob seat memory because I have an aftermarket alarm so I do not use the Ford transponder. I would assume Easy Entry negates the key fob memory of position 1 or 2. Easy Entry probably only memorizes the previous location so it deactivates the key fob memory when you press the fob to unlock the door. Of course you can just press Memory #1 or #2 on the armrest once the seat slides into position.
I hope I understood your question correctly.
I've checked and reset the Easy E/E feature from the menu, but even though it shows "ON", still no EasyE/E operation. Guess it's back to the dealer.
Thanks again for the help.
