Thumbs up Howdy (I'm new)

Hello everyone,

I'm new here. I'm a 16 Year old guy from central Iowa, I work part time on my grandparent's farm, and enjoy working on some mechanics in my spare time. I found this site by a google search, and it looks pretty nice, you may see more of me here from time to time. My favorite vehicle is a Ford F-350 diesel crew-cab longbed truck. Right now, I'm considering restoring an old 1973 F-250 custom built 2WD single cab truck, which needs a lot of work. I could probably get the engine working with a fairly small amount of hassle. (I already solderd two broken spots on the radiator and replaced the starter - now I need to change a few spark plugs and I should have it running.) What needs the most work is the body. There is a lot of rust around the wheel-wells, in the bed there are a lot of holes that rusted through, and around the doors and hood, there are a few rust spots. I will probably have to buy some replacement pannels, and give the whole truck a freash coat of paint. (Probably a change of color as well)

Anyway, that is my project for the next couple years. My goal is to get it running reliably, and looking decent before college. Then maybe while I'm in college, I can dress it up even more, adding some more extras like a CD player, dual exaust system, maybe an engine overhaul, if I don't have to do that sooner. So, anyway, I may have a few questions about how to go about the restorabtion proccess. I'm looking forward to chatting with all of you.

~ Joe

Hehe, You may be right about the money part.

But as far as late night parties and drinking..Well, I don't think I"ll put much money into that. beer is not good for keeping alert, acurite, and in good physical shape - and I'm not a party, scocial guy. I'm a loner. My best friends are my trucks, ATVs, and laptop computers.

But you are right about money being tight. I will probably always be broke.

Oh, and you're right, hehe, I do ramble a lot.
