I have been looking around and Someone posted the Treadwright site in a thread, anyways, they have really great deals, and im looking for a wider tire and they have these 285/75R16 tires: https://www.treadwright.com/p-103-28...kbone-2-e.aspx Listed for like 131.00 a piece ofc shipping is like 26bux but thats still a great deal... Anyways the question is would i have to get a wider rim for these to sit on?...
I mean right now, im riding on 235/85R16's... but the above tire is 50mm's wider. Can those really fit on my stock wheels?
Damn, id hate to buy these and then they not fit. Its going to reallllly suck. I guess i kind of need to know, you think i should call the tire place and have them see if they can do it ahead of time?
Yes you should be able to fit them on there(i fit 265/75/16's on a stock rim). The ones I run are not much wider, I fit a 315/75/16's on a stock rim....I would personally recommend a wider rim.
I am running 285/75/16 Bridgestones on the stock rims. The tire shop where I got them recommended wider rims but said that i would not have any problems.
My only question is what ply are they? Doesn't state on the site, seeing as it is primarily a Jeep tire, it might not be rated for some of the heavier duty things you are likely to put it through. I believe it getting a good off road tire, but at the same time making sure it will do everything else I need it to do just fine.
My truck had D's on it when I bought it 8-9 months ago. I have a 500 lb cap and at least 500 lbs of crap in it all the time and pull my 14k lb trailer often(not fully loaded). They have held up so far, though I'd feel better with E's on it.
These bigger tires only come in load range D, because at this size....the belts and cords have the same weight capacity as the load range E in smaller sizes.
