Loosing coolant. The cracked cups pressurized coolant forceing it out of the fill cap. I had a problem with the wastegate so I I didn't find till that was resolved. If you are loosing coolant it may be that

OK.....I checked the turbo wheel and I do not feel any play and spins freely. So it appears the turbo is fine.....yeah! But it is definitely leaking oil from somewhere so I will probably have to change the pedestal seals and I'm thinking I should do the EBVP delete while I'm there. My buddy with the scan tool will come by this afternoon to do another contribution test to see if all injectors are firing and I asked him about the smoke and he said it smelled like fuel (french fries actually since I blend) and he also said it was a lingering grey smoke indicative of over fueling or oil.......not water which would be more of a steam smoke that dissipates quickly. So I'm still confused.....after we contribution test it this afternoon I guess I need to decided to pull all the injectors and pressure test the cooling system to see if the cups are leaking. And if I'm pulling the injectors again I think I'm going to just order a set of stage I's from Clay so I know they are good.....any opinions?

Well I do not completely understand it.....but it's fixed! Apparently when I got the truck back together after replacing #1 & #3 injector the smoke I was seeing was because of replacing the injectors. I did not know it's common for it to smoke for a bit and it was dark so I really could not tell the color of it just that it was smoking. And the miss (bad injector) I was hearing....was my own stupidity! Truck sat all day waiting for my buddy to rescan it and he found #7 injector open and #7 glow plug bad.......that didn't make any sense so I pulled the valve cover off again and I didn't plug in the solenoid for #7! (Yeah I know....*******!) Now she is running like a scalded dog again! And my turbo spooling up and down is back as well.....I assume a missing/bad injector affected it's performance as well!

Now my next issue.......there is still oil coming from the turbo area. What would be my best coarse of action? Right now I'm assuming it's the EBPV but I do not know for sure. I'm thinking since I have to pull the turbo I should replace the pedestal to delete the EBPV or do it myself (I've read how to do it, just have not decided). So if my leak is coming from there, this would fix it....right? Also since I have the turbo out, should I replace all the seals?

Do you have any pictures of the injectors you removed? I'm curious to see how running blends has (or hasn't) effected the engine. Did you see any evidence of coking etc? Thanks!

I did not take pics, but I still have them.....I will take some soon. I can not say of condition because this is the first pulled injector I've ever seen. So I would like to hear opinions as well......

Thank you! About how many miles would you say these have been running on your blend? And what blend are you running?

172,00 total on injectors.....about 100k on wvo blend......started out w/ 10-15gal of diesel and the rest wvo (44gal tank). Now during the summer I run straight wvo and in the cold months (florida...lol) I still blend as stated above. In the beginning and learning I only had settled the oil, experimented w/ washing, heating and various filter elements until I found the centrifuge! The centrifuge is the only way to go in my experience! So for the past 2-3 yrs I've been running the centrifuge and the oil is golden when coming out of the bypass tube.....very clean. So I'm hoping most of the damage to the injectors was during my experimentation period....but who knows. Overall I'm still happy and any way you look at it, over time I've saved a butt load of money!

Yea. If you have gone 100k, and only need a couple injectors, that's a great payoff. I'll have to look into a centrifuge. Thank you for the info!

Actually I've replace the drivers side w/ 4 rebuilds, but only 2 showed bad....then 2 went bad on the passengers side; so I cleaned the 2 that were supposedly good from the drivers side and swapped them out on the passengers side.

Yes.....only 3 injectors showed bad on the computer and one of them I believe to have caused the white/grey smoke. The computer didn't say it was bad, but the infrared temp test showed it to be way cooler than the rest of them, so I replaced it.
