Getting ready to pull an engine

Started working on the F250 today. It's the 'runaway' truck that I've had a year or so, and haven't had a chance to do anything with yet.

It's a '90, F250 4x4 with the E4OD, regular cab. Body is in good shape on it, little rust above the rear wheels, and one soft cab corner. Needs a new rear bumper, I have extras here, and might have to find a tailgate for it. I think I have one here that will go on it after I play musical tailgates/boxes though, just need to double check my counting.

I drained the antifreeze, pulled the rad, shroud , alternator, fuel filter and brackets, vacuum pump, A/C compressor (left hoses connected and swung it out of the way.) Also the power steering pump, fan and clutch and all the belts.

Air filter housing also got pulled, and a folgers coffee container fit nicely over the intake to keep water and stuff out.

I think that was as far as I got with it this afternoon, maybe I'll get a little more time in on it tomorrow. Calling for snow Wednesday, so I'll likely be off plowing for a couple days again.

I think that it has a head/gasket issue, the antifreeze was clean, but there's a silvery grey sludge that drained out of the bottom hose. Regardless, I have extra engines, so this one is getting stripped down completely, and will get tagged to get the heads/block checked before or if it ever gets rebuilt. Doubtful that will happen, but I'll wait and see.

Main plan is to save the internals if they measure up and look good, I already have a few parts off this one spoken for. I have extras of everything, so if anyone is needing anything specific, let me know.
