I have a 78 F250 Ranger Supercab 4X4. After removing an reinstalling the hood I can't seem to get the back edge back down to the correct height so that it lines up with the cowls height. I have the tried various positons with the three mounting bolts for the hinges but so far the best I can get is still about a half inch higher than the cowl. Does anyone have any experience and or fixes for this problem?
You're right Dennis. I should start a file of common answers.
The trick to get the rear of the hood down is to loosen the hinges on the inner fender and rotate them open farther. What happens is the last bit of hinge movement drops the rear down. If you set the hinges so the hood opens farther, the hinge "swings" a little more toward the closed position, dropping the back end down.
Hope this helps.
Greg
Thanks for your help guys:
I tried what you suggested and it worked. I kinda suspected I might need to do that but thought I would check with "those in the know" first.
