Sy just might take a little offense from being called a guy...
MF is an all female company and GREAT LADIES to deal with.
Hmmm... I did deal primarily over email, but when I did speak to someone on the phone the first time, it was a guy. I just assumed that Sy was a guy's name. No offense intended.
Jolly Rodger Joe: They have a bonus built division for you guys (and gals) as well.
OK, I give up. I searched their site again and don't see anything about that division. All I found to fit a '51 are 9' bed wood sets. It must be a different website. Do you have that link handy (or the company name)?

Ok... I may be wrong. I've never spoke with Sy, but my father has. He says Sy is a guy and co-owner of Mid-Fifty.
Glad to hear about their customer service. It is so hard to find good customer service anymore. I've always been of the same mind myself. We all make mistakes, it's how you handle your mistakes that matters.
to all i live in arizona and am about 5 hrs from mid-fiftys I have been to their stone at least 8 times and will say that i as a bussiness owner myself i am VERY happy with their parts and service and will say that one time that i was there on a saturday they let me wander around their store I was impressed to see that they have very good depth of inventory to say the least most all the stock boxes had like 5 to 10 bags of the same parts in them so when they are out of something its usally because they are waiting for their orders from their suppliers it is a pretty good size operation with 10 or so employees and they sell a lot of parts i have pretty much got all my parts form them and been very happy so much so that i keep 20 or so catalogs in my shop to give out when someones asks me about my truck buy from them YOU WILL BE HAPPY!!!!

Seems we have a mystery on our hands....
I have met Sy face to face, and she is definitely a woman! The last I knew, they had one or two guys working in the warehouse to do the heavy lifting, but otherwise everyone else is female. They are justifiably proud of that fact. Sy stops by here every once in a while.
thank's guy's ..watched the news this morning ,,and really wondered about the world ..came here and now I remember why I like my old Ford's ..caus' of all the good people ..nice to find this thread and good in the day ..ruined my funk ...so it's all good ..so how much is a catalog ??
We were driving our newly purchased 56 panel home and had stopped at a truck stop to eat and gas up in AR I think. The pass door wouldn't lock So my wife went in to get us food while I tried to fix it. I had the inspection panel off and my arm up to the shoulder inside the door spraying oil on the mechanism when this lady walked up to me, handed me a catalog and said "These old trucks need a bit of fussing with don't they?" "I'm Sy Miller, from Mid Fifty, if you need any parts please give us a try!" She said they were on their way home from a show. I told her we had just purchased the truck the day before in NM and were headed to NC with it. I reached in and pulled out MF's previous year's catalog the PO had given us with the truck's paperwork and told her we were already making a shopping list while we were riding! She thanked me and wished me well.
MF's catalog is much more than just a list of parts and prices, but includes a lot of info, hints, charts and exploded views available nowhere else. I keep a copy in my truck while I work on it and refer to it often. So useful that it would be worth paying for, but it's FREE!
Yes. That is one great thing that they do. They will share their opinions about some of the products they sell, sepecially when you have different 'grade' options. Even annotated in their catalog. Makes shopping and deciding what you want a whole lot easier! Like I said, makes me want to do a whole lot more business with these folks!
My build hasn't really started, but I've ordered a few books from them. Service is great, including a call to tell me the order had shipped.
I keep a pdf copy of the catalog on my computer at work for daydreaming. Buying all that stuff would be scary without the information they have about the various components.
I'm thinking they will make my build a bunch easier.
