That called pier and beam construction. We have a lot of that in Texas and the South.

Actually that's a pretty common style of building in this part of the country. My mom and dad have a rental house built like that. We sealed off the bottom afterwards.

I like your porch posts, Dale. And good choice with the Tyvek house wrap. Makes a big difference. You going with a metal roof?

THANKS GUYS' It's sitting on 8x8 and they go 8' in the ground with 4' of cement around them. When i wasn't welding in the day i was a plumber. I have seen cement slabs with the copper pipes and after 40 years you have problems. I'm going to close it in with stone. Snakes well thats just apart of life in fl. Heck i got gators in the back yard. 2mor. i'm going to the strawberry fest. in panama city [car show] so i'll post some pics. Put a add on craigslist and got a another guy looking for frontfenders so i told him to come take a look. Got three sets but he ain't getting the good ones. LOL I Still going to build a 52 oneday. But if anyone needs any small stuff P.M. ME . Maybe i can help !!!! I got my mama home 2day after knee replacement. She is 81 and a true trooper. So life is good down here in the south. Heck we ain't had no winter and summer is on the way.
