Heres the deal i just bought a 96 crewcab, it has a leaky fuel pump and is leaking oil out of the ebpv actuator. My question is there a rebuild kit for the turbo pedastal? Reason being i know i can cap off the ebpv but i like the braking affect it offers when remotely activated. Thanks, Chad.
Well i just called Ford and they sell one at company discount for 165.00. I hope my new rig isnt a total fixer up, it looks good but i am noticing small things that werent mentioned.
Hey thanks ill check it out! Hopefully the rest of the turbo is in good shape cause i really dont have the cash..
I have read that the cylinder of the pedestal gets worn inside and the new kit its not enougth to fix the oil leak, IDK Maybe its better to buy a new pedestal. I recommend to ask Clay about this before doing anything else.
I hear you there, i can just see the aluminum getting all worn and new orings not helping. I would still like to utilize the ebpv, i toggled it on my 95 and it works very well, the steepest hill we have near by is about 3miles@ 6%, with around 9K in tow i can hold 65.

Its a truck... itll nickel and dime ya for life.
I still love it anyway.
And IMHO I would do the EBPV delete with the new turbo pedestal or whatever.
You can get better aftermarket exhaust brakes that dont cause oil leaks...

I also utilize the EBVP like an exhaust brake and I like it.

I got to talkin to a guy at a turbo shop and i dont see why a person couldnt design a air piston to operate the flapper. I would be especially easy with Efuel cause you would have all sorts of room for a mount and such. Either way i am gonna tear into today and hopefully get the turbo off and inspected. I always do this to my self i get one vehicle runnin really good and then i go and get another that is all messed up and i spend months gettin all the bugs worked out, but i guess thats what rednecks do...

I hear ya! If I didn't do it, I don't know what I would do with myself.
Yea. On a good note i got the new fuel pump in along with new hoses. I also cleaned the fpr, the screen was caked! However the ebpv is still leaking so i will be tackling that next. I think for now im going to do away with it altogether.
