At least once or twice a day my BII will stall when trying to accelerate from a stop. This also happens occasionally when gassing her out of a corner. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening and/or know how to fix it? Also, is there a site I can view that will give me every detail about my engine?
I have the same truck and have been through some stalling problems. The 2.8 has an incredibly sophisticated PITA emissions system. Any one of the dozens of vacumn lines might be off or leaking. The Throttle Body may be in need of rebuild, the fuel filter might be plugged. The first step in this is always to pull the computer codes to get a base line. You can get a diagnostic reader at most Auto Parts places they're not to expensive, Mine was $32.00 Cdn. It will tell you if the ignition/efi system has a problem and what it is.
This site has a wealth of knowledge in problems already fixed. You might have some luck browsing through the archives for the BII and also ask in the V6 forum and check their archives too. So all in all your in good company here.
