im looking at a truck this year. found 2 trucks, one is a 95 single cab long bed standard 4x4 200k miles 4000$. leaks oil around dipstick into block, other is a 97 ext cab AUTO 4x4. 206k. doesnt mention any isues 5700$. both have no rust. i really want an ext cab i had a std cab dually gasser and then my f150 ext cab blew up i loved that but i could deal with the dodge. i like to have subwoofers and i keep a tool box in the bed for supplies and my tools when i work. im just wondering which seems better because i cant decide whether its better to have a ext cab auto or std cab stick. is there an mpg difference? i have 7000 to spend but im going to do an exhaust right off the bat and a tuner so i can smoke a little bit. all of my buddies have ext or 4 door standards and swear by them but my dad has a auto ps that he loves but its a 2000. i need some advice here if anyone has anything to warn or advice, thanks
so automatic is better? can i smoke as well as a standard? silly questions i know but im also buying my first diesel and i love the smoke... but i love towing too

Not to be an azz but get a 5 speed cause I see a auto won't last you a month. Sounds like you got a heavy foot
Unless you get injectors the smoke will never come to be. if you want the ext cab get it. I got a 97 ext cab auto with 337k on the original trans. Never towed much but had a chip its whole life.
Please for the love of god do not roll coal with your dodge. If you wonder why we are paying out the *** for ULSD, it simply is because diesel owners did it to themselves. These people rolling coal online, and on people got on the EPA's watchlist. The EPA decided well **** we have our reason now to get ulsd, and the diesel owners were mighty helpful in allowing us to pass that mandate.
i don't know about you but paying 4.00 a gallon for diesel blows.
i have a very heavy foot, size 15 and weighs about 10000 pounds when im driving lol. but i was thinking buy this while i can and eventually do the dreaded 5 speed swap since i know a few guys that are friends that did it to my buddies cummins...
I was using us a reference from the EPA point of view, that they didn't have to do anywork to get ULSD passed. Coal rollers did that.
Yeah I heard that also. My buddy and I are gonna get geos, and strip them down. Drive them into the back of our powerstrokes park the psd's, in town and then drive the geo back and forth lol and rock the truck on the weekends or for picking up girls.

Sent a pm your way also about your rear disks
Good idea. Except go with a festiva, that is what I have, it would probably fit too, and its still a ford..
