Wait, you didn't post this to be funny or just because? You're serious?
Hmmmmmmmmmm, ok, but you have to understand our skepticism. It's your first post and what you claim strains our credulity.

No, I was serious.
And I understand, I dont blame you! But I just found out that its on auction and the starting bid is $60, they need to be more clear. Still might buy it though.
Well if its on auction with a starting bid of 60.00 I would think it would have a reserve WAY beyond the starting bid.
I fail to understand why you would even need to think about buying an Excursion over 6 mil-seconds for 60.00. The thing weights nearly 8000 pounds and scrap is at 15.00 a humdred. So it has a dead weight value of around 1200.00.
Knoxville Tennessee my friend, actually Pull-A-Part is paying 15.75 a hundred.
Someone is taking you for a ride, if 10.00 a hundred is all your getting.
Time to take a look in the Yellow Pages.

Nah I've called everyplace within worthwhile driving range. It was 9/100 just went up to 10 recently, for common scrap. There is one place thats not close by that I think is paying 11/100 for scrap cars but thats all they deal in, they won't take any loose metal or other kinds of scrap, which isn't convenient anyway.
Pull a part is paying that for whole cars because they make more than common scrap by selling the parts, to mention even if they didn't, you pull 4 alloy wheels, the catalytic convertors, the heater core, AC equipment, and radiator for aluminum, the wiring harness for copper, and the blower motor, alt, and starter and you have an extra maybe $200 per car... so thats probably true if the originally story of this thread was true, but I haven't heard of any straight scrap places around here paying that. And I've called many in WV, PA, VA, and MD.

This is interesting info. I've tried to get scrap steel prices online locally but haven't been able to, just for other metals. I'm really curious how much weight scrap steel I'll actually have. I need to take the doors and hood soon though because I'll need the trailer in the next few weeks.
