FAIL EMISSIONS
Hey guys I just picked up a 87 f150 that had a cracked head I put a remanufactored hed on and truck runs great. I did away with the air pump because The old air tube wouldn't come out of the old head so its gone. I took it to inspection today and it failed low idel emissions. The inspector also said it was smoking a little. On the way home I ran it on the highway and didn't see any smoke so I am woundering if the smoke the inspector seen and the truck failing could be caused from antifreeze being in the exhaust system soaked the inside of the cats and muffler from when the head cracked or injector not working right or O2 sesor damaged by antifreeze????????

The problem you are having is that you took the air pump off ... legally you can do this however it is the extra air being pushed into the exhaust that is keeping your catalytic converter clean ... it is smoking because the cat is clogged.
