timing cover seal

timing cover seal

Im having trouble pulling the seal where the crank goes through the timing cover. I tried using a punch i just cant seem to get a grip on an edge. Any ideas?

It looks like this but i got it in a Mr. Gasket master seal kit.

i used a large socket to push it out . don't remember the size though.

put timing cover flat on ground , put socket on seal and tap (not hammer) seal out , reverse for install .

don't forget about oiling new seal
i always oil crank adapter and seal , dry seal equals torn seal and leak .

Yeah is it a beech to get out I think I used a nail punch and a BFH. To put the new one in, use a common 1x2" piece of wood. Hold it on there and tap tap tap the seal in.
