Thought you guys might want some more flathead eye candy for a lazy Sunday morning. I saw this truck at the Fall Rod Run in Pigeon Forge and had just about forgotten about it.
I agree about the compressor. It wasn't one of the strong points of the truck. But, from what I recall, the truck was very clean and appeared to be well built. I wish I had gotten better pics.
whaddya need air for ? go faster if possible and roll down all the windows , open up all the vents , and enjoy the sights and sounds of the flatty talking to you .............. my beater has a/c and i won't use it unless the wife or grandkid's {all but my little red headed assistant / granddaughter reese is the one with me } are with me . if we are using the 53 or 52 they're crap outta luck . didn't have it never will . i didn't ride in anything with a/c till my granpa sager bought his 79 caprice in that year , and never myself owned one till 1985 when i bought a big old { new } delta 88 royale brougham more door in that year . just seems the more modern gee gaw's they have the more it distracts from what it is in the case of the old stuff . on the topic of the thread , i love that flatty !!!!!!!!!! that truck makes me wish i hadn't sold my 49 f4 ....................
Very nice work here.
I'm not sure why he had to make the hole in the firewall. Looks like maybe he moved the engine back quite a bit to allow for the radiator???...slim

Looks like it may be for clearance of the a/c components to the radiator. Don't see how he would be able to run the top radiator hoses around the a/c components if it were closer.
