My suggestion would be F1ZE or F3ZE Explorer/GT40 heads since they have larger valves, flow better, and won't need to have hardened valve seats installed like those early 302 heads you have.

How does the DOOE 351w heads compare to the newer F1ZE or F3ZE heads ?

I have a set of DOOE's under the bench but I suspect Ford engineers figured out flow rates after 30 years , grin .

"out of the box" the GT40 heads outflow the early heads. The early heads can be ported to equal this though. When Ford started the work on the GT40 heads in the late 80's, they first obtained and flowed a set of 60's GT40 heads, then they had Jack Roush work up a set of E5/E7 heads. The later heads outflowed the 60's GT40 heads. They used this as a baseline to develop the newer GT40 heads.
