Have a '94 Bronco with 125,000 miles. Recently the stearing has become "loose". The ony way I can describe it is ocassionally the stearing becomes easy on one side or the other making it very easy to overcorrect.
Nothing appears broken or loose under the front end. No unusual wear on the front tires. Wondering if the original factory shocks would be the issue.
I felt the same problem with a couple of broncos I test drove before buying this one.
any suggestions on what I should look for?----------------
Shocks aren't a steering component, and they're actually not an integral part of the suspension, either - they just damp the action of the springs.
Many alignment shops will check your front end free, and so do many tire shops. Take it by a few places and see what most of them say and which one seems the most trustworthy.
