Looking for stereo
Hi all, i am trying to get some infor for a friend. he just bought a used 99 expedition, and it had an aftermarket stereo system installed..... deck, amp, cap, subs, etc etc..... so, we just took all of that stuff out, and we want to install a factory head unit.
however, we are looking for a something other than what originally came in the vehicle. is it possible to get a deck with all of the same factory features (tape, am/fm, 6 disc external control) PLUS has an AUX port to allow for IPOD use?
if there isnt an option, then we will just get one of those tape adaptors, and use the ipod through that. we are not looking for a "system", just want something in place to use the ipod, but dont want to put in an aftermarket deck.

The easiest way to get what you want is to install an FM Modulator like this one:
Amazon.com: Scosche FM-MOD02 Universal Audio Input FM Modulator for iPod, Satellite Radio or Portable Music Player: Car Electronics
This goes in-line with the radio antenna wire. Once installed you tune the radio to the correct frequency and it will play whatever is being piped into the input jack. As an alternative there are wireless FM transmitters for the iPod that will do this same thing without having to hardwire anything.
