Unhappy Fuel Filter help!!!

my mom has a 96 bronc 5.0. And I am trying to change the Fuel filter.
I can not get the thing to come off it's like its fused to the lines. i've twisted and pulled and done everything I can.

Do I need some kinda special tool to take the sucker off or what?

Fuel Filter help!!!

I went ahead and bought the tool to remove the fuel line, just a little plastic collar that slips over the filter's inlet and outlet and slides into the fuel line to release the filter. It was fairly cheap and if there is a way to get the filter off without the tool I sure didn't find it.

I did. Cut the old filter off at the nipple, then you can depress the prongs in the lock with a scribe. It is easier to go get the tool.
