Flywheel Needed

I'm looking to find Rich Graves, I'm new to this site and need some help finding a flywheel. My dad and brother say hes the man to go to, to find parts but I figured I'd ask everyone else too. I have a 73 Ford highboy that I just pulled the 360 out of. I bought a Ford 400 out of my brothers 79 2x4 that what mounted to a c6. I would like to keep the 4 speed manual that was already in the highboy. I already have the bell housing for it. I also went to Napa and bought a clutch for my set up not knowing how tough this was going to be to find the flywheel, its a 12in clutch. My brother got on and asked if anyone had one on this site a day or two ago and one guy responded with I guess the right flywheel but for an 11in clutch. So any help I can get I would appreciate. Thanks

The 11" clutch is for the 351M. The 12" is from the 400. The 351 clutch uses a diaphragm type pressure plate and the 400 uses a 3 finger type pressure plate. I can't really speak for Rich, but I THINK he has one. You won't be able to know for sure until he gets back in late March or early April. He works out of town. (REALLY FAR out of town)

Ok thanks is it possible that the 351m flywheel will fit on my 400 and just swap my 12in for the 11in and make that set up work?

This is the Rich you are looking for, and who is you dad and brother by chance? And a general parts request will usually be handled by one or all of us if we have it or know where to get it.

Like Alan said it will be a while till I am back in town (april) and I think I have one setting around, just have to look.

Alan (earthquake68) and RC (whiskyrunner) would be great guys to hit up for parts also, and maybe "borderbum" he has been swapping out a few 4 spd and auto's trans, I think.

If you are not in a hurry (yea right we are always in a hurry to get it running) I'll be more than happy to look around for you in the shop and see what I can find. But like I said, it will not be till early april, let me know.

I honestly don't know. If you go to the dent forum and ask NumberDummy, he'll know for sure.

I appreciate the help from you guys. I just got done painting my frame and now all I have to do is drop the motor in. I really want to get it going. A guy on here that goes by (lostinfords) has offered to sell me a flywheel that come from a 351m, he seems like a nice guy I'm just trying to see if I have any options around here before I order from him in New Jersey. My dad is John and my brother is John you had bought a push bar from my brother is how you guys met. Dad also said you had found a bell housing for my brother. We're here in Holden, my dad gave it to my brother now but we have that blue 78 F250 4x4 super cab. Anyhow thanks for the help.

Ok wow that seems like a long time ago, John and John in Holden. I remember them now, also hauled some 460 parts that way and met of 7 hwy in Urich.

Sorry I am not in country to help out, work is what it is......a PITA. Seems like up in KC area there ought to be a JY that would have one cheaper than shipping one from NJ.

I would make some phone calls before I got it, and correct on numberdummy having the correct info.

Yeah I've checked several junk yards around and it seems pretty hard to find but I'll still do some checking around and asking people.

1. Glad to hear the JY got you squared away.
2. You are from Missouri and are a Ford owner, so what you mean "someone they don't know"?
You do not have to just need help to stop by, just stop by and chat and let us know how everything is going.

We have a monthly chat /bs thread and are all on it almost daily. Go to this link and ck it out.

I am not to sure how I did it but my hotmail acct get a email from FTE when anyone replies to this thread and any other I have subscribed too.

Hey guys, I'm having the same problem as lmclennan with finding a flywheel for a 400. Does anybody know someone who still has one of these? I'm down in middle MS and no one here seems to have one and nobody knows of anyone to call to get one. I just recently got on here so I'm having difficulties pm'ing people as I guess I haven't been a member for 10 days yet. If anyone has info on one of these, please please help...
Thanks,
Mike
