Here's a link to International's Mil-Spec 6.0. I find it very interesting that some obvious changes have been made including a different EGR cooler and EGR valve, and turbo. Fuel injection system still appears to be the same and not the HPFP setup like what's on the 6.4 engine. Also HP and torque has recieved a nice bump at 340 hp/660 lb-ft
On a side note, the torque output of the 6L was at 660 lb.ft in the F650 and 750 offerings back in 2005-07 so that's really nothing new.
That I didn't know and a bit surpised of this as well.... The reason I'm surprised is alot of folks blamed Ford for tuning this engine for too much power hence some of the headgasket/headbolt failures thories.
Let's also remember that it's not the internal parts of the engines that make the bHP and torque numbers. It's the calibration strategies. An E-Series and F-Series 6.0L share virtually indentical internal parts, other than a few minor external bolt-on accessories, they are the SAME. The E-Series specs are 235 bHP and 440 ft-lbs. of torque, while the F-Series are rated at 325 bHP and 570 ft-lbs. as most of you are already aware. For what it's worth F-650 and Navistar truck versions are derated even down lower to 200 bHP or up as high as 260 bHP if I recall correctly. They are also redlined at 3000 RPMs, while E-Series and F-250 to F-550 engine are redlined at 3900 to 4000 RPMs. That said, I highly doubt anything inside the engine itself is anything new or worthwhile considering upgrading to. Heck, most of you guys already well exceed those numbers with your tuners alone, which is fine and dandy, as long as it doesn't come at the expense of reduced dependability and reliability.
