Hey y'all Google is failing me here. If anybody has any pics of a '92-'96 F250 riding on 35s or 37s, could you post a pic for me please? And what kind of lift I would need to make 'em fit? Or if you have any experience with them, tell me what you think? Anything helps, thank you.
Jake
I have a pic of my 89 F250 on 35" BFG's. It has a 6" lift in the rear and 8" in the front (to level it out) but it will clear 38" tires for sure. I haven't tried 40"s but it would be a tight fit if they did fit. You probably only need a 4" lift to fit 35" tires. but if you're really just making a mall crawler, you could put in a 3" body lift. I'm not a fan of body lifts but if it's just to show off, you could probably clear. It did suck a lot of power out of the 351w, but I also had 3.55 gears with these on so that didn't help. It did look really cool though.
No pics that I can post but I put 40s on my 87 f250 with zero lift.
I cut the front bumper and rolled the rear of the fenders some but that's it.
I'd say 6" lift is more then plenty for 37s. But I'm a fan of less lift and more trim/roll/flare of the fenders.
Thanks for the pics and comment guys, it really helped me visualize and all that. Haha I talked to my dad a bit and we decided on 37s with a 6 inch lift. And if needed (which is unlikely) we just cut the wheel wells a bit. And dgoodwin, how much of a lift is on that '91? 8 inch? It looks good!

It's a 4" with a 3" body lift. Cheapest way. Nobody makes a 8" for that year for some reason.

I'm a big fan of biggest tires with as little lift as possible too. It makes a lot of sense to keep a lower center of gravity and placing the bed at a level that can still be used. Giant lifts to completely clear the body from smaller tires is a dated way of thinking and has gone out of style like five shocks on each corner and traction bars that span the length of the truck. Besides the "walking on stilts look" always looked silly to me.
I know you asked about 250s but here's some pics of my 350 with 35s and no lift.<O

I have a build thread with a lot of pics here if you want to check out what I've done so far.
The key to this was the backspacing on the wheels. For 35s on a 350 you need a 4" backspacing or less. Get the tires as far away from the suspension as possible, then trim the sheet metal to make it work.<O

Reason: added more pics
The lift vs no lift from a functional standpoint is the same debate as wheelbase. It all depends on what you're doin. . .of course, giant tires with giant lifts and no body panel modification is not optimal for much of anything, lifts are still required for pretty much any form of beastin short of rallyin (I.e. crawling)
I've always preferreed 37's over 35's solely for the fact that 37/16.50 military tires can be purchased for a fraction of the price of 35's. There is only an inch difference in ride height and they'll slow ya down quite a bit, but they'd so cheap.
