Do you have a spare bedroom? I might need it if I bring home another truck. I'm not sure where I would put another engine, but that is something I would just have to figure out.
I haven't heard from him yet. I might text him after the holiday.

 

Sounds like an interesting day Joe! Always learning, maybe not the method of choice but you made it home and slept in your own bead at least I have a 3 cylinder in my 1974 Ford 4000 Tractor. I wonder if its the same one? Well I'm just getting ready to leave for the Auction. Wish me luck!

Hey Joe, I know you were looking for some running boards but didn't know what size you needed. I "picked" a pair from a guy that bought a whole pile of parts. They are 41" long. If you can use them great. If not, I'm sure I can get rid of them. I got a real good deal. Just contact me and I will give you the details.

Wow, I haven't posted here for a month.
Not much has happened on my truck. I'm enjoying driving it too much to work on it.

I did spend a few minutes and get the horn installed. I just finished that this evening with a horn button on the column purchased from O'Reilly's.


Also, I was at the in-laws taking my youngest swimming and on the other side of the fence was this nice 53. Unfortunately the guy next door that has a lot of old vehicles come through is a.....well not a nice guy. Here is the truck. He buys and sells them, so if anyone is interested in buying, I can go talk to him.

That's an easy way to get a horn working. Had to do that to the 70 F350 I owned. Do you need a working horn for state inspection?

 

That's what was on it when I got the truck. I have no idea what I did with that horn button though.
Since I registered as an antique vehicle, I didn't have to have an inspection. I don't have to renew the plates either. I was just talking with my dad and mentioned the horn. He asked about inspection as well. Actually, now that I have that, I think I would pass inspection. Well, I'm not sure if cracked side windows would fail it though.

Since your truck is basically stock why can't you use the original horn in the center of your wheel?

 

I will look further into that in time. I'm assuming something was broken since they added the column mount horn button. My horn button is not on my steering wheel at the moment. I'm thinking something might be broken on it as well. I should be able to get it all working like original in time.

 

Like I said it is a quick and easy fix. And gives you time to get the original working.

 

By the way. I was talking with my son last night and he was asking what you guys thought of the bed. Funny thing was that he said "our truck". I think he is plotting to make it "his truck".
It's a lot more fun when you see it on the road. He wasn't quite as interested in the bare frame.

 

Did you tell him we love it? That he could go into business making beds.... well no one said that but who knows after his college.

He probably thinks he has some sweat-equity in it. But tell him he got paid, with that 'A' in Ag shop.

 

It's funny how that works Joe He does have a little sweat equity in it now. That is, unless you paid him for his service's Please tell him I was impressed!

 

I guess he does have some sweat equity even though it was all done in school. He was very particular about who could work on the bed. Also, when you let someone drive an old truck they either fall in love or hate it. I'm glad he fell in love. He couldn't understand the people who didn't think the truck was cool as all get out. (I don't either, but I'm old enough to avoid those people. )
